"moving the marker"
toward peace and equality in America and around the world.
The purpose of this website is to generate ideas and open discussions on political science, policy and administration, and poverty solutions
The world is our classroom. It is where we teach and learn.
The authors of this site believe that peace and equality can be promoted by sharing knowledge and promoting active interest in teaching and learning.
One of the joys of working with Ralph W. Conant and his associates is being submerged in their genuine love of knowledge and willingness to share their thoughts and experiences. All members are dynamic, accomplished in their respective fields, and unbiased in their research and writing.
Conant has written several books over the years. People searching for facts upon which to build concepts, theories, and plans of action will find no better reporting and documenting of events, policies, programs, and their outcomes than in his writings. He is above all an educator with a passion for teaching and learning. He welcomes comments, questions, and challenges with regard to his works, areas of expertise, and fields of interest.
Maxine Kurtz is a simply remarkable person. Her life's work, as documented in her new book, Invisible Cage, reveals the facets of her brilliant mind, her stellar character, and her unwavering commitment to moving the marker, as demonstrated during her career with the City of Denver. Her work reaches well beyond Denver, as she helped research ideas and implement solutions in full view of metropolitan leaders across America. She gives her readers the opportunity to view, first hand, the way in which problems come to the attention of executives and how they are analyzed and researched for solutions. She details how solutions are implemented, challenged, and modified.
Conant and Kurtz prepared a case study based on Invisible Cage. Their new book, City of Destiny: Denver in the Making, was published by Chandler & Sharp in 2008.
Guillermo Owen uses the art of Game Theory to understand and evaluate the seemingly unquantifiable. Ralph enjoyed many good conversations with Guillermo while the two of them were writing Revolution and the Search for World Peace. Read the preview of their work and see just how they tackle negotiating the nonnegotiable as they both use their extraordinary talent moving the marker toward world peace. They will, with great pride, dedicate this book to their grandchildren!
Dr. Ralph W. Conant and Dr. Maxine Kurtz offer their special thanks to Ed Barrett, Publisher, Chandler & Sharp. Ed's efforts in publishing, marketing, and distribution of their works reflect his own dedication to moving the marker toward peace and equality through careful documentation and intellectual exchange.
